Story

Second ride today and it probably would've gone a little better if it had been early morning instead of mid afternoon. Apparently Maroa farmers don't want to lose any crop ground by having any trees around?!? Found one tree shading the road! Had to take a picture to prove it... Seriously, I wouldn't choose this route to convince someone that gravel is fun, it was just WORK, especially into the strong south wind and/or some of the loose gravel sections that just sucked the watts and motivation out of me. I was starting to wish for Crazy Cook Hill! The late northbound paved stretch did rejuvenate me somewhat, All in all, it was a good afternoon, but I like the hills of the Mackinaw valley in my backyard much better than the flatlands of Macon and DeWitt Counties.
The lone shade tree along the route...
