A perfect route for the whole family, and since it's an out-and-back, you can go as far as you want.
This ride is mostly gravel with a few miles of road. This route takes you from Wauconda, IL to Genoa City, WI, on the Millennial and Prairie Trails in northern Illinois.
Being in the Midwest, it's a flat ride, but flat can be fun! And, because of it's low difficulty, the route is perfect for a half day in the saddle for a longer distance, or to break up into sections to make it family friendly. I usually take my family to ride it on gravel and fat bikes, even with a trailer to haul the littlest one.
It is a multi-user trail, so be sure to yield the trail as necessary.
Don't forget to stop once in a while and take it all in.
There's different farms and animals to see along the way.
Easy terrain and quiet spaces to get out on the bike.
There might be a spot or two that add some spice to the ride, or in this case chill you out a little.
