*As routed, this is only one direction and is meant to be ridden as an out and back* The route starts at South County Trail Parking Lot, Old Saw Mill River Road (Route 303), Elmsford, NY 10523. This is a paved path shared with hikers and cyclists. You go through some green areas and villages where you can stop for snacks or meals and get to know some history. Keep an eye out for deer, birds, and beautiful flowers. It's a nice path, great for group rides or pedaling with the family. The Walter Law Memorial Park in Briarcliff Manor is a great stop. Then you'll pass Ossining, Millwood, and cross the bridge over the New Crouton Reservoir. When you get to Yorktown Heights, ride until you reach Junior Lake Memorial Park and make a U-turn—riding back on the trail in Yorktown Heights. There are restaurants, delis, and coffee shops in the area. A favorite is Primal Bowls (1877 Commerce St, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598), where you can get a refreshing Acai bowl. Yorktown Cycles is in the area if you need a friendly bike shop. This is an out-and-back, so turn around and follow the path back to your starting point to complete the ride.
