The West Orange Trail is paved and considered one of Florida's top 10 bike trails.
This route is out and back, a total of 32 miles.
Park at the Killarney Station in Oakland, where the trail starts. You have restrooms and a friendly bike store, where you can find everything you need, including rental bikes.
It's a nice shaded trail, going through towns, green areas, and preserves.
Our first stop was at the Oakland Preserve pavilion. There you can learn about flora and fauna in the area. Then, we rode through Winter Garden and stopped at the Chapin Station. There is a beautiful park and a lovely sculpture of kids and bikes. We met a friendly group of recumbent cyclists, and they took our picture.
You can visit the Central Florida Railroad Museum for rail and train history love story lovers; you can see the Central Florida Railroad Museum. Our favorite restaurant is the French "Rosalie." Their menu is incredible. Their food and pastries are delicious.
Winter Garden Downtown, WOT
Bikes and Blades bike shop at Killarney Station.
After lunch, we rode back, passed Killarney Station, where we parked and rode a little bit of the South Lake Trail (which starts in the same area and goes in the other direction). We went back to our car to end this nice and relaxed ride. Next time, we will park at the same place, but we will go in the opposite direction to ride the South Lake Trail, which starts in the same area.
